The job was to design a mini brochure for the US premiere of choreographer William Forsythe’s I don’t believe in outer space. One of the most influential artists of our age, Forsythe’s most recent performance was staged at the height of political and social unrest in New York and across the globe. I took this opportunity to draw visual comparisons between the happenings on stage and what was playing out on the world’s stage.
The design of this brochure was heavily influenced by the propaganda that circulated Paris in 1968. And as a nod to the dance group’s hometown of Frankfurt, the typography took on a strong German accent.
