Like BKLYN

Naming and brand identity for Brooklyn arts and culture festival. This festival will highlight the artistic renaissance that is happening currently in Brooklyn. The campaign needed to feel uniquely Brooklyn. I chose to play off the iconic “I ♥ NY” campaign, but update it in a humorous and youthful manner. Much of this campaign will be viral, relying heavily on social media. The beauty of the name is that the call to action is built in — removing the need for supportive copy.

Using star power, I drew on the tight knit artistic community that calls Brooklyn home — selecting celebrities with personalities and careers that match the unique and slightly off kilter vibe of the borough.

 

 

The festival will be divided into sub-festivals for each genre. The logo needed to become a system that could work for each sub-brand. The “like” of “Like BKLYN” transforms from verb to preposition and now we not only like Brooklyn, but we hear what Brooklyn sounds, tastes, and moves like.
