After consulting the director, Andrei Belgrader, I had a better understanding of his vision of the show. But it was clear he was a story teller through time-based media. I had to tell this story in one frame.
I decided to take a more editorial approach for the photography. I hired Brooklyn-based photographer Graeme Mitchell. His narrative approach, ability to capture pure mood, and boldness of his inky black and white medium-format film were perfect.
With hardly any props, little wardrobe and makeup, we were able to rely on the strengths of the actors craft.
